Directions to MPHS
When you arrive on campus, enter the property from Knox Road, using the driveway nearest the auditorium/next to the school marquee. You will be parking in the northwest lot. Note that if you’re transporting large percussion equipment, you may loop around the lot, to park in the yellow zone in front of the school (and in front of the band room doors) for loading/unloading, and then move your vehicle into the lot.
Entering the Building
From the northwest lot, please use the painted crosswalk to approach the building, and then enter the auditorium wing by following the covered walkway to your left, beneath the sign reading “AUDITORIUM”.
Student Warmup
The auditorium (room A157) will serve as the warmup space. A grand piano will be available on stage for brief piano warmups, and brief run-throughs by soloists and their accompanists. Please be mindful of time spent using the grand piano, and share the instrument equitably.
Pianos in the wind, brass, perc, guitar/harp, and string rooms.
We are using the electronic pianos from our piano classroom for the solo & ensemble festival. Unfortunately, the sustain pedals on a number of the instruments are not working or went missing over break. We will have a few sustain pedals to go around between rooms if needed – but your students/their accompanists should be made aware. If you have a cabled sustain pedal with a 1/4 inch jack – feel free to bring it, but please mark it with your name and school. For next year, we will order sufficient replacement pedals!

Concessions
Limited concessions (bottled water, snacks) will be sold by our boosters and student leadership team in the auditorium lobby. Please do not take food or beverages into the auditorium (or any of the classrooms); there are tables in the lobby at which you may sit and eat.
