Thank you for your interest in volunteering!!! We cannot do this without you.
Tempe Union District requires fingerprint clearance for any volunteer position where you may have contact with students without a district employed staff member present (ex. first aid, chaperone, uniforms, etc.).
Please note that this process has been updated, so it is different from what you may have done in the past.
It now requires both online paperwork completion and an appointment with the TUHSD Human Resources department to confirm your documents.
*If you have already completed this process, please email president@thunderband.org. Your records may not have been pulled over and we can follow up with our Admin.
*If you already have an active Fingerprint Clearance Card, skip to step #4.
- Go to Fingerprint Clearance Card | Department of Public Safety azdps.gov/services/public-services-center/fingerprint-clearance-card
- Create an account and apply for a Fingerprint Clearance Card.
They will provide documents needed to visit a local office for fingerprinting. - You will receive your card in the mail.
- When your card is received, log into Tempe Union High School District Frontline Application and apply to be a DV VOLUNTEER. (Be sure to select/apply for the Desert Vista option.) Attach a copy of your fingerprint clearance card to the application. Please note: the volunteer and employment applications look similar and are processed through the same system.
- When the district application is completed, please email Band Boosters (president@thunderband.org). We will then request DV admin complete the school required forms to submit to the district.
- Once the district receives the DV admin forms, you will receive an email from HR at TUHSD (mailbot) with a link to complete 3 additional forms. Once completed, they will contact you to set an appointment time to go down to the TUHSD office to complete your clearance.
- TUHSD Scheduled Appointment – You will need to take a copy of your ID and your fingerprint clearance card. The district will notarize your documents, have you sign 1 additional form and provide you with a copy of their handbook.
- Once your documents have been processed, you will receive a copy of a volunteer work permit from TUHSD (mailbot) confirming you are officially cleared by the district. A copy is also sent directly to DVHS Admin and then the Boosters will be notified.
