May 11, 2016: Mr. Thye named Quarter-finalist for 2017 GRAMMY Award!
In total, more than 3,300 initial nominations were received from all 50 states. Less than 10% of the initial nominees were selected for this round, and it is a great honor to get this far.
It appears that there are two quarter-finalists from Tempe Union, with Scott Werner from Corona del Sol also on the list. This speaks to the wonderful music education available to our students.

Every year the people of Ahwatukee have a great opportunity to vote for the Best Of Ahwatukee, hosted by The Ahwatukee Foothills News. In 2013 the education section expanded the “Best Teacher” category and created “Best High School Teacher,” “Best Elementary/Middle School Teacher,” as well as “Best Childcare.”
Our own Mr. Thye received 1st Place in the new Best High School Teacher Category! Congratulations Mr. Thye!
